Studies Have Found That Positive Socializing Could Increase Your Lifespan by 50%!
Not every aspect of antiaging medicine is about clinical treatments and therapies. Much of it also has to do with living an “antiaging” lifestyle.
Spending time with your friends is fun, but did you know that having a happy and healthy social life could add years to your life?
In fact, new research suggests that socializing could be just as important to living an antiaging lifestyle as a good diet and regular exercise! Research recently published in PLOS Medicine Research journal makes a strong case for working on your social bonding and social relationships.
The PLOS report says that the quality and quantity of an individuals’ social relationships are linked to mental health as well as to both chronic disease and mortality.
After culling data from a meta-analysis (study of studies) of over 300,000 individuals across 148 studies, the researchers pegged a 50 percent increased likelihood of survival for participants with stronger social relationships.
Strengthening the study’s findings further, it was found that the longevity and health ratio dropped steeply for those living alone. This is only the latest study that suggests that strong social ties can help you to live longer.
In another study, social isolation significantly increased a person’s risk of premature death from all causes, a risk that may rival those of smoking, obesity, and physical inactivity. There was yet another that found that social isolation was associated with about a 50 percent increased risk of dementia.
The benefits of social connections and good mental health are numerous. Such shared times help a person combat or lower the incidence of anxiety and depression, lead to higher self-esteem, greater empathy, and more trusting and cooperative relationships.
In a “mind-body” connection, that reduction of stress also increases physical health and helps prevent many life-shortening conditions such as cardiovascular disease.
The Antiaging Benefits of Hormone Replacement Therapy
It is absolutely a great idea to spend more time with your friends and family, it not only adds life to your years, but it may also just add YEARS to your LIFE!
We also encourage all of our patients at our Miami antiaging clinic to make other lifestyle changes that can also improve longevity. However, sometimes fitness and diet are not enough to make up for the ravages of aging.
The truth is most of the symptoms we think of as growing older, such as tiredness, weight gain, and sexual health issues, are all related to the steady decline of critical hormones as we age.
Hormone replacement therapy is the most effective treatment option for relieving the typical symptoms of age-related hormone decline in men and women.
Two of the most critical hormones to maintaining youth have been proven to be testosterone and human growth hormone. That is why our bioidentical hormone treatment programs are designed to optimize your levels of these hormones.
Depending on your symptoms, you may need testosterone therapy or HGH therapy, or both. We often combine HGH and testosterone replacement to allow our patients to age optimally and not have to give up any of the things they love about life just because they are growing older!
At NuLife Institute, we realize that not all patients experiencing age-related hormone decline are the same. Unlike some other facilities, we never take a cookie-cutter approach to hormone replacement but tailor your program to your unique needs, goals, and lifestyle.
Our medical director, Dr. Luis Dominguez, has used his unique, customized approach to help thousands of patients reverse the clock on aging and enjoy a whole new lease on life.
